Fist Pumping at the Selena Gomez Concert

This is my super sweet and charming cousin, Maddie! She invited me to the Selena Gomez concert, and we had a ball! Of course we had a delicious dinner before hand at Cheesecake Factory. Lil' girl had a dish of whipped cream (just whipped cream) with sprinkles... my kind of dessert!

First up was Christina Grimmie. I did not know who she was, but she has an AMAZING voice. Oh my gosh, so powerful and strong. Her covers were fantastic.

All Star Weekend was adorable and upbeat.

Very California in their appearance. They were the ones that started the entire audience on the fist pumping.

Then came Selena... and she looked beautiful! I did not realize that I knew so many of her songs.

My favorite song:

Selena Gomez is such a wonderful role model for young girls.

Thank you so much Theresa and Maddie for everything. I had such a fabulously feminine evening with you both!

Darling Raquel is just a bit sick of me replaying Selena Gomez songs. :)

Hope your day is starting off on the right foot!

Dear East Coast We Are Thinking of You

And hoping you are somewhere warm and dry.

The video coverage of an empty Time Square is unbelievable. Did you see the clips of people playing in a natural slip & slide on the sidewalk?

Please stay safe and be careful.

If you do find yourself in a stormy situation on the way to a business call or lady's lunch, here are some rainy Kate Spade essentials.
This trench screams femininity. I would love Mrs. Darcy to wear this.

A Stand-Out Umbrella

These rain boots are ADORABLE!!! L-O-V-E these!
(I used to wear Chooka boots, but the clumsiness and size of them irritated me.)

I hope this Tropical Storm/ Hurricane passes quickly. Stay safe!

Lilly Cocktail #2

Good morning!
Lilly Cocktail #2

Lilly Cocktail #2 featuring gunmetal earrings

Happy Fashion Friday!
Thank you to Kori at Blond Episodes for hosting our favorite Friday blog event!

Lilly Pulitzer's Navy Ostrich Resort Chic wedges were this week's inspiration for Lilly Cocktail #2!
I picture this outfit taking center stage at a trendy cocktail party or night-time-downtown wedding.
Hair inspiration was Kristen Stewart ala W's September issue: big, full, and classic.
Alexander McQueen ring clutch& Kenneth Jay Lane cuff and earrings add color and edge to the Navy Tibi dress and Lilly wedges.
I love mixing feminine pieces (dress & wedges) with more urban/edgy pieces.
Lastly, the chocolate martini goes perfectly with any outfit! ;)

Have you mixed your Lilly pieces with a different designer lately?

Have a magnificent Friday!

Erin Condren Life Planner

All I can say is "WOW!" Had I known about the Erin Condren Life Planner, I would have passed on my current Lilly agenda. Check this video out!

These seem completely amazing. I heard about this particular planner in a brief mention  on Pretty In Pink Megan's blog.

Have you heard of Erin Condren before? Her website has amazing organizational tools and fun products.

I will definitely be remembering this Life Planner for next year. (Erin Condren is in no way reimbursing me for mentioning this planner.)

Side note, I've been listening to this YouTube video for the past six minutes, and I can't help but sing along to every song. I miss 90's music all the time; I have so many fun memories attached to these songs.
Such an awesome mix.
My favorites include: "Rhythm is a Dancer" "All That She Wants" "Don't Let Go" "Don't Speak" Enjoy!

Quick Lilly End of Summer Sale Find Update

I hit the sale early, and thought all my purchases through. I have to admit with the quality of sale that is going on right now... I didn't go that crazy! (Thank goodness.)

Here's what I scored...  while trying to make smart purchases.

Finn Shift
I like how this dress is multi-season. For fall I plan on wearing it with simple TB Revas and a sweater, in winter with tights, boots, and a jacket, and in spring with simple sandals and a bright Murfee.

Lilly Key chain for ma keys.

Charm Bracelet
Good price and fun addition with the MK watch I plan on saving up for next.

My favorite find... the Bianca Chiffon Dress.
I thought this was beautiful the first time I saw it. I had to pick it up. I feel like this will be part of my wardrobe for years to come. I can't wait to try it on when it arrives.

Itam Apricot Murfee
The warmth of the pink of this scarf called to me.

Lastly, for $39, I could not pass this Jillie up. Again, extremely multi-seasonal, and could work for so many different occasions.

Looking back, I am surprised with what I purchased. I did not buy more colorful dresses/shifts  as Fall is now on my mind. Had this sale occurred before my Cape Cod trip... it would have run havoc on the bank account. Luckily, for me, it did not.

I would like to send out a heart-felt thank you to Lilly Pulitzer! I've been waiting for this sale for a while now, and it did not disappoint. I saved a little less than $900.00!!! There were no glitches or freezes while shopping. The layout was also very clear and organized. Thanks again.

Did you find anything at the sale? What are your thoughts on the prices? Did you find what you've been looking for? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Happy Shopping Savings!

A dose of Darling Raquel

Darling girl wishes you all a magnificent Monday. She is fan of alliteration, just like her momma! Raquel had a glorious weekend with her sweet cousin Suzie. She had not been this happy since her Angus (Lhasa) was alive.

Little Suzie's Smiling Face

Here is an extremely important reminder for you: The Ultra Amazing, Fabulously Fantastic, Out-of-this-World Lilly Pulitzer online sale is TOMORROW!!! Hopefully the site will run more smoothly than it did last time, but if it does, stick around because the deals are worth the frustration. Can't wait to see all your finds.

Happy Shopping!

Take you Keds to Work Day

An extremely fabulous creative writing professor/author has asked me to come up with looks that are sneaker friendly. These looks are for a professional teaching environment. My first thought was to use some of the ultra chic sneakers that Keds are currently featuring. Here are some of the looks I've put together.

Look #1
Anthro Dress

With...

Pair the above with some retro clear glasses, a vintage delicate-bird inspired cuff, and said teacher's signature curls.

Look #2
Blazer from Piperlime

Brown Gap Tee

Anthro Map Skirt

Chambray Keds

Look #3
J.Crew Outfit (love the coral skirt)

These are too cute! Dress this outfit up with a gauzy scarf and nice watch.

Look #4
Red Sweater Blazer and Striped Tee from J.Crew

J.Crew Scarf

Gap Chambray Skirt

Loafer Looking Keds... fun!

Look #5
Anthro Dress

Keds Collective

Look #6

J. Crew Dress

Shirt dress looks like these always remind me of Miss Honey in one of my favorite movies, Matilda!

Quick Song Break...

Here are some other options from Keds...

When wearing non-athletic sneakers or more casual shoes to a work environment, I think the main thing to remember is keep the rest of your outfit a tad more dressy. I've paired these Keds with skirts or dresses on purpose. Use accessories to dress your outfits up a level as well. The best part is, if you go for cocktails after work, all you have to do is keep your heels in the car and your outfit is ready to go! Warning: these looks are perfect for a teaching environment, but for a law office or executive suite, I'd leave your Keds at home.

Enjoy your weekend!
