Favorite Leading Male Characters on TV

Good evening! Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! I thought I would do a fun post on my favorite leading men on TV shows that I am currently watching (some on DVD). A great way to start the short work week off...

Eric Northman from True Blood
(June 26th can't come soon enough.)

Don Draper from Mad Men
(Can't wait to see what comes of the new relationship that started last season.)
Logan Echolls from Veronica Mars
(p.s. I miss this show very much! Have you ever watched it? It is a great mix of Nancy Drew, One Tree Hill drama, and Kristen Bell wit.)

Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries
(This show is my guilty pleasure... eye candy!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for reality...
I bought the silver shatter toenail polish by Sally Hansen. This picture does not show the effect that well, but it is really fun and worth trying. I definitely like the silver shatter more than the pink shatter polish.
Darling Raquel enjoys those soy crisps as much as myself. I come down the stairs to find this!
My puppy niece and nephew loving each other; melts their aunt's heart!
Butterfly Confetti Angel Food Cake... yum, cute, but too tough. Note to self stick to regular bundt pans for this type of boxed cake mix.
Hope you are having a lovely evening! Next up the best looking in my opinion  are my favorite male characters in film! All the summer movies have me on an actor-vibe. Sweet dreams!
Congrats to BFFLex on her Graduation!
Congratulations BFFLex!
You are going to do amazing things next year! We are all so proud of you!
Tay, The Graduate, Moi, and Lil' Syd
Outside the venue.
I hope you all are having a great start to the weekend. Last night, after the ceremony, we all went to a wonderful dinner in the Italian part of town. I had Cavatelli Con Broccoli; it was delicious!
Have you checked out the Semi-Annual sale at Victoria's Secret? I found some great finds. But the best has to be this one-shoulder bra top... for only $14.99. It is extremely flattering and so comfortable.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I am going somewhere fun today, I'll show you the pics soon after. Have a wonderful Saturday! xoxo!
In love with the new crackle polish and deals of the week
Good afternoon! Missouri is finally experiencing some calm weather; it was incredible frightening yesterday. There were no tornadoes in the immediate area, luckily, but there are trees down on many of streets near my home. Luckily the weather is supposed to be nice for Memorial Weekend. For those in Joplin, my heart goes out to you. (Our trip had to be moved. Hopefully we'll be able to go next week.)
Product Review
Sally Hansen Crackle Polish in Pink Over Sally Hansen Purple Polish
This product is very easy to use, and I love the results. It is so much fun! I am going to try it over aqua nail polish next week. I wonder what will be next in the nail polish industry. It seems that new products come out each week.
I used Essie base and top coats to hopefully extend the wear of the finish.
p.s. The silver crackle is beautiful on toes!
Deals of the Week
Both from Marshall's!
 This swimsuit by Marc Jacobs. Original price tag reads $173.00. Marshall's price = $49.99!
I love the colors and the ruffles. It reminded me of suits I wore when I was toddler, but in a much more grown-up way!
 I love these shoes, because they are so much more comfortable then my Jacks and Bonannos.
Only $29.99!
New chairs for the deck from Home Depot.
My dad wanted some comfortable lounge chairs for our deck, so I scoured our local shops and found these reasonably priced chairs from Home Depot. They are very comfortable and flatten to store easily in the winter.
Raquel
Darling Raquel continues to take my breath away with her cuteness!
I saw this and had to come and give her a kiss...
She was not happy with her momma messing up her pillows!
And last but not least...
Tim McGraw
Tim McGraw... last night... oh my gosh! He is soooo good looking! Jaw-droppingly gorgeous!
I am in love with all things Country right now! Can't wait for the weather to get warm, when I can wear summer dresses and cowboy boots to cookouts listening to this fine man! Reminder, if you have not yet seen Country Strong, I highly recommend it!
Prayers for those in Joplin
As a resident of Missouri, my heart goes out to those in Joplin. My friends and I watched the news and online videos for hours last night on the Tornado footage. It is terrible. 116 people have already been found dead, and the numbers are rising. Families and pets are displaced, homes are flattened, and cars are crushed.
That is the hospital's helicopter.
There are numerous natural gas fires.
Here is one of the most disarming YouTube videos that we watched. Warning: although you can't see anything, the audio is frightening and surreal.
The CNN coverage is terrible as well. The BFF's momma's big heart is driving all of us to Joplin on Friday to volunteer. We all want to help the families and their pets. The BFFs and I specialize in pet care, and hope that we can help all the abandoned dogs some how. I will take pictures and write about our experiences.
I hope you have a nice day! I pray for this severe weather to end soon. Stay safe if you're in the Midwest.
OOTD, Hair Inspiration, and a Wonderful Customer Service Story
Good afternoon! I've been cleaning and organizing since 8 am this morning, and I am so ready to take a break and blog a bit. Darling Raquel is currently sleeping right behind me on my bed. She loves resting her little chin on my pillows.
My pretty lil' baby!
Here is an OOTD post I forget on Mother's Day. The dress and sunglasses are Lilly and the shoes are Kate Spade. The dress was so comfortable. I love that Lilly makes one-shoulder dresses. I feel that they are so figure flattering, especially for someone that has broad shoulders like myself (thanks to 13 years of swim team!).  In this photo you'll see my hair is a dark brown, and I've become slightly bored with it.
I am thinking of getting highlights like those on Elisabetta Canalis (George Clooney's girlfriend).
I really like the warm tones in her hair, and I think it would be perfect for summer.
Do you change your hair for summer? I'm on the fence about it right now, because I know the upkeep can become time-consuming and expensive. I'll let you know what I do.
Lastly, have you ever received such wonderful customer service that you wanted to send the person that helped you a thank you card? Well that happened to me the other day. I lost one of my favorite earrings that I thought was from Nordstrom. I live chatted with this very kind woman and she searched for 45 minutes before figuring out they were from Nordstrom Rack. She then called Nordstrom Rack for me, set me up with one of their workers, and had that worker call me if she found them. They called me back to let me know they had one pair left! I was so thankful. It is customer service like this that reminds why I continue to shop and respect Nordstrom.
I was on their BP fashion board in high school, and it was such a fascinating experience. A lot of work goes behind everything they do. If you are in high school still and love clothes you should check it out! They meet once a month and cover a whole bunch of topics. Make-up, spring trends, fashion shows, and you can help out during the holiday shopping hours (so much fun)!
I hope you have a Sunday full of relaxing and beautiful moments.
What's in the Bag: Workout Edition + A delicious & easy treat!
Happy Saturday to you! I always enjoy reading the "What's in the Bag" posts, so today I thought I would do a healthy take on the post and show you inside my workout bag!
I take many different workout classes, and I like to keep everything in one bag, so I never forget anything.
Green & Yellow Adidas Bag
Gold's Gym Weight Lifting Gloves
Everlast Weighted Kickboxing Gloves
Shimano Spin Shoes
Flip Flops for the Locker Room
A Sweatshirt (I'm always cold after I leave the gym)
And... Asics Blur 33
Can't See: HRMonitor, Running Socks, Perfume Spray, & Gum
I just picked these up on Wednesday, and I am quite fond of them! They are extremely lightweight. The color is much more neon in person. The cushioning feels nice and holds up my pronating feet.
What do you keep in your workout bag? I love learning about new gym/fitness products.
And here is a delicious treat!
Super Berry Bowl: Blackberries, Raspberries, Strawberries, and Blueberries with Sunflower Seeds and Dried Coconut Flakes
Extra Super Berry Bowl: The Above topped with fried banana mush! O-M-G, delish!
The hot banana tastes amazing with the cold berries.
To Make Fried Banana Mush: In a small pan let a tablespoon of butter melt. Drop in crumbled banana pieces, a pinch of ground cinnamon, and some sweetener (I used truvia). Let cook till mush and caramelized.
I hope you all have a gorgeous weekend. I wish you much happiness and fun on this beautiful Saturday!
Fashion Friday, Recap, Perfect Scrambled Egg, and A Castle Too!
Bonnaroo Outfit
Bonnaroo Outfit  featuring wood bracelets
My inspiration for this outfit is the vibe of Bonnaroo. The free and fun feelings that people embrace while there. I have never been, but I hope to go some day. I love most types of music (not a fan of hardcore metal or rap, but I do love folk, r&b, classic rock, oldies, especially a fan of the 90's, and so much more!).
Right now I am in love with wedges and denim shorts; I think the two together make legs look so long. If you are afraid of falling, cowboy boots would look great too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry, I have been MIA lately. School is officially over, and summer is here! Amen! Here's what I've been up to the past few days.

This is one of my favorite pics from the Jason Aldean concert!
(Moi, BFFTay, BFFLEX)

In love with these earrings by Betsey Johnson.

Well, my dietary plan was sidetracked this week over the stress of exams, but I purchased a food diary last night, and I am going to work harder on my goals.
Anyway, this frozen yogurt concoction has been my favorite so far: fresh strawberries, cookie dough pieces, hot fudge, coconut, walnuts, sprinkles, mochi, red velvet froyo, cake batter froyo, and Dutch chocolate froyo with a topping of light whip cream. Delicious! With this food category, portion control is a must!

My attempt at making Chicken Nachos. The chicken was delicious, but I am not a fan of tortilla chips. I also tried putting cilantro in my salsa, and I did not like it. I would prefer cilantro is guacamole more.

A few weeks back there was a post on FitPerez about making the best scrambled eggs. I watched their video, and it is amazing how much of an improvement my scrambling skills have faced.

What I do:
  • Two eggs crack in bowl and scramble with a fork till still chunky but mixed, sprinkle in some salt and pepper
  • Pour mixture into pan that has butter melted in it (half tablespoon with some non-stick cooking spray)
  • Scramble eggs with wooden spoon or spatula
  • When almost done, splash a little milk and scramble it in
  • Then put some American cheese and Cheddar cheese into the pan immediately
  • Scramble till cheese is incorporated, then voila! Delish :)
These eggs come out more like a cheese paste, but it tastes wonderful spread on toast. How do you like to make your eggs for breakfast?

I saw this picture of Angie Harmon in a magazine, and just thought she was so beautiful. A very gorgeous family.

Now for something really neat!

I attended a home viewing the other day of this Castle near where I live! We had no idea it existed, till it showed up on the Internet a few days ago. It is 8,000 square feet of pure fun. There are hidden rooms, dungeons, peek holes, and multiple levels with enormous suites.

It does need some renovating, as some of the features are outdated. This bath could fit five people.
The home was built 91 years ago, and then later turned into a castle in the seventies. The man who turned it into his castle made it for his wife to express his love to her; she left him less than ten years later.

There were pine cones everywhere on the 6+ acres.

This clip art currently adorns the front of my food journal. I love the "No S" messages.

I hope you all are having a wonderful Friday! I've missed blogging the past few days. I am working on some decor posts, stay tuned! xoxo!
